Heart disease is the
leading cause of death in the United States, killing upwards of 610,000 people each year. That is approximately one in every four deaths. Additionally, nearly half of adults in the U.S. have high blood pressure (hypertension), and millions of people worldwide have a family history of heart disease.
ACSM has created a number of resources for those with heart disease as well as for those trying to reduce their risk of developing heart disease.
